Becoming an Accredited Course

The National Institute of Medical Herbalists accepts applications for membership from graduates of Western Herbal Medicine Courses accredited by NIMH or the European Herbal and Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (EHTPA).

In April 2011 the UK government announced the intention to statutorily regulate Medical Herbalists with the HPC to ultimately assume responsibility for the accreditation of all Herbal and Traditional Medicine courses and registration of successful graduates.

While NIMH has historically managed its own accreditation process, this responsibility has been moved to EHTPA during this transition period to ensure that the transfer of responsibility to the HPC is as efficient as possible.  (Please see NIMH Accreditation for more information.)
