Fenland Natural Health are dedicating a whole meeting to the healing benefits of rose, a plant used for thousands of years for its medicinal qualities and health benefits.

We shall be investigating the many uses of this plant, how it has been used throughout the ages and what medical herbalists use it for today. We talk a lot about the physical actions of medicinal plants and how their active constituents are metabolised by the body to aid healing. This month, as well as talking about the plants pharmacological value, we shall be taking a closer look at this plants energetic qualities and how it can be used in other ways. As part of this we will be inviting attendees to participate in a meditation with us, while we enjoy the taste and aroma of this amazing plant over a cup of rose tea. We hope that participants enjoy the relaxing yet uplifting properties of the rose during this session.

Entry is £3 per person which includes a complimentary drink and a handout to take home.

Mental Health and Emotional Well-being, a Natural Approach

Organised by Fenland Natural Health

Thursday 26th July 2018

Sutterton Village Hall. PE20 2JP

7:30pm – 9:30pm

Fenland Natural Health will be looking at mental health and emotional well-being this month and how we can tackle some of these issues using natural approaches.

We shall be looking at how to maintain good mental health by protecting the physical brain and keeping it in good working order as well as focussing on how we can also maintain good emotional health by using medicinal plants.

The Mental Health Foundation have published their annual Fundamental Facts which follows the recent publication of the 2014 Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey. This highlights that, every week, 1 in 6 adults experiences a common mental health problem, such as anxiety or depression and 1 in 5 adults has considered taking their own life at some point. In addition to this Alzheimer's Disease International report that someone in the world develops dementia every 3 seconds. There were an estimated 46.8 million people worldwide living with dementia in 2015 and this number is believed to be close to 50 million people in 2017.

With figures like this looking to be increasing year on year, its important that we all do what we can to keep not only our bodies healthy but our minds as well. We couldn't decide on a herb of the month this month as there are too many to choose from and too many different health conditions to consider, so we will look at a variety of plants that can help.

Come and join us. It only costs £3 per person which includes a complimentary drink and a handout to take home. Those of you who are regulars of our meetings will know that we often have additional tastings of various preparations during our presentations as well.
